         It depends on your interest & capability. Both are the core branches & good scope in its own field so you can choose as per your convenience. 

      

        If you love structures  or civil works and want to involve yourself in it, you may go for Civil.

       If you passionate about material properties, strength and make use of new materials or design new machine structures, you may go for Mechanical.

So in a sincere note, these subjects will be very interesting for you to study but you must work very hard to succeed in them.
